Purbeck Wedding Photographer : Kataya & Richard : Part Two

Perhaps confusingly, considering the title of this post, this is not Richard & Kataya. They asked if I might take a photograph of the two of them together and I’m always very happy to oblige, when asked. I thought it might prove handy at some future point were I to leave it there with my business name alongside, just in case for any reason my services might be required. That may sound awfully presumptuous of me so I hasten to add that direct marketing is not my modus operandi; presumptuousness not in my nature.

Umm…

Kataya & Richard…

But I wasn’t ready to go home yet! I was having far too much fun and there was a great deal more yet to be experienced…

My thanks to Kataya & Richard for arranging a delicious meal for me, and to their caterers, Victoria Blashford-Snell, for being so fantastically accommodating and friendly. I took it as yet another good mark of Richard’s character that he made a point of finding me to inform me that food had been arranged when he should rightfully have been sat to enjoy his own. Such things speak volumes about a person’s nature and further reflected how great a group of people I had to work amongst that day.

The reception was rather lacking. English being a funny language, in having many words that bear multiple meanings, I’ll hasten to add that mobile ‘phone reception was rather thin on the ground in the lower reaches of Studland (thin in the air too, more to the point). Kataya & Richard’s reception was as fulsome as could be…

Fairy lights make for lovely lighting in an autumn-wedding marquee. They may not be up to the job as reading lights, but none-the-less…

Richard’s brother, Will, relates a tale of nerve-wracking daring do. His best-man’s speech done. A perfect job he made of it to…

Fourplay. It must be a play on words; the fact there are four of them, playing. There are four. The drummer just happens to be hidden in the following shot. I met them in the kitchen before they went on and they asked me how the crowd might be likely to respond on the dance-floor. I imagine it’s a pre-performance concern for all bands. I told them they were in for a good time, for a very good time, and they were. I’ve not seen a band enjoy performing any more. They clearly had a whale of a time and performed at least four encores, I think it may even have been five. They said they would have played all night but they had to be in another country the next day for a gig.

The dance-floor remained full from first dance to fourth (or fifth) encore.

I’m painfully aware you might not have a clue as to what I’m on about. Let’s just say we were doing it Purbeck Style. Seems Kataya was a big fan too :~)…

Whichever of the two you said yes to, or indeed both, or neither even, there’s a link to my Contact form at the top of this page should my services be required :~)…

The sparkler exit; months (maybe) in the planning, minutes in the preparation, micro-seconds for Kataya & Richard to spot a waiting taxi and peel off  from the quarter-lit tunnel. Spontaneity all the way…

As there was little in the way of mobile signal in the area, the others decided what else was there to do other than to party away into the night…

Congratulations Kataya & Richard and thanks so much for having me along for your laid back adventure of a wedding day!

Antony Turner - Very, very nicely photographed wedding. Kataya and Richard must be thrilled! Lovin’ the last ‘posed group” portrait and the 8th from last image with the bride dancing is also very good because of all the expressions. Very enjoyable post

Vicki - WoW! That is a bloody brilliant set of photos! I bet they LOVE THEM! I think my faves are when they have just come out of the church! That light is gorgeous and she looks stunning! AWESOME PHOTOGRAPHY!!!
