Helen & Ian. I couldn’t think of two people I’d more willingly spend twelve hours on my feet for. I’m sure there are less peculiar accolades than that to be had; maybe suffice to say they were lovely people to work for and I thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated the opportunity to take more than a peek through a doorway into their special day.
They married at Milton Abbey School in Dorset. Any venue where the manager offers the photographer cups of tea on several occasions throughout the day has to be fantastic. Imagine how well the paying clients are being looked after.
Less of my intake though, and more of my output.

I loved working at Milton Abbey. I'd love to go back there again some day. I'm not sure I'm getting it right on the calling card front though.

Helen's bouquet. A feast for the eyes. I loved the flowers even more than the bridal party sandwiches.

Helen's Mum is now the official Misterphill land speed record holder for fastening a button-up wedding dress. She attributes her success to years of practice with crochet. Emma at Big Bouquet was absolutely correct on that count.

I only spotted the one in there. The stray apostrophe, whichever end of the S it was intended for, was never found.

En route from bridal preparations upstairs to the ceremony room downstairs I happened upon Ian in the bar, penning his speech. An Ode to Piddle indeed. I swear that'll make genuine sense to a select number of people at the heart of this story.

Always worth turning up early for the best seat in the house.

Security was tight.

As I was saying, best seat in the house.

"Great choice of seat!"

I could learn a lesson or two from this young gentleman.

I think I missed the Decisive Moment on this one. Or did I?

The pre-wedding breakfast fast-track mingle.

Most effusive out of focus receiving line expression of the week, and three runners-up in perfect clarity.

The food. Exquisite. I can recommend the steak course wholeheartedly, with thanks to Helen & Ian.

You'll never guess what they're all looking at.

Okay, I underestimated you.

That beard would have gone marvellously with that sunset.

Security checks were ongoing throughout the day.

This week's answer to the existential crisis of wedding photography.
