The latter often being a natural consequence of the former, after a wedding there’s little that’s more moving than a good christening and I found it a highly enriching experience to photograph Evie’s Greek Orthodox Church christening this weekend in Bournemouth.
Evie’s parents, Sofronis and Lorraine, commissioned me to photograph her christening in tandem with her first birthday, and the third birthday of her sister Amelie, so an action packed day was had by all (indeed Lorraine commented amidst the morning preparations that the whole day was taking on the feel of a wedding) with guests aplenty from far flung places and near. Guests came from as far as London, Cornwall and Brighton and Sofronis’s parents, Steve and Elizabeth flew over from Cyprus with his sister Maria.
Sofronis’s other sister, Daphne, christened Evie and serves as her Godmother.
The christening was conducted by Father Chrysostom at the Hall of St. Edmund Campion R.C. Church, Castlepoint, Bournemouth; at the moment the congregation are without a formal premises and the arch dieses are looking to house them in a church that is more permanent.
